The Holy Spirit chose to descend
upon the early church on a day called Pentecost (Acts 2:1-6). But Pentecost
is a Greek word for the Jewish feast day that was then being observed, and the Hebrew name is Shavuoth. What was the feast of Shavuoth? The memorial of the giving of the law at Sinai!
