Online Bible

Death is the reverse of the life process as in Genesis 2:7 -And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (being).

Revelation 16:3 - And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul (creature) died in the sea.

Job 27:3 - All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

Job 33:4 - The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

John 20:22 - And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

Are you aware that cloning takes an electrical zap to start the process?  God provides what is necessary for life and it returns to Him at death.

James 2:26 - For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 - Dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it

Psalm 146:4 - His spirit departs, he returns to the earth...his plans perish

Ec 9:5.6 - For the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing, and they have no reward.  For the memory of them is forgotten, also their love, hatred, and their envy have now perished, nevermore will they have a share in anything done under the sun.  (under the sun=here on earth) (emphasis)

The same happens to righteous and wicked Ecclesiastes 8:11- 9:12 (In regards to the earthly body)

The dead do not praise the Lord Ps 115:17

As the cloud disappears and vanishes away, so he who goes down to the grave does not come up. He shall never return to his house, nor shall his place know him anymore.  Job 7:9, 10

So man lies down and does not rise.  Till heavens are no more, They will not wake.  Nor be roused from their sleep.  Job 14:12

Oh, that You would hide me in the grave, that You would conceal me until Your wrath is past, that You would appoint me a set time, and remember me!  If a man dies, shall he live again?  All the days of my hard service I will wait, till my change comes.  You shall call, and I will answer You; You shall desire the works of Your hand.  Jb 14:13-15  What change?  Corruptible puts on incorrptions; mortality puts on immortality; works of Your hand=creation - 1 Co 15:53-56

We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changes-in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.  1 Corinthians 15:51, 52  When?  (At the last trumpet)

We brought nothing into the world...carry nothing out 1 Timothy 6:6

Die once and then judgment Hebrews 9:27  No chance to relive your life differently.

Can affect no change after death, (a parable) we don't come back

Luke 16:19-31  The Lord wants us to know that our choices in this life determine out eternal life, not to take up with spiritualism and conversations with the dead (which are of the devil).  We do not get a second chance Hebrews 9:27

God has given us eternal life 1 John 5:11-13

I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?  God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.  Matthew 22:32;

Mark 12:26,27; Luke 20:37,38 (for all live to Him)

The hour is coming, and now is when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of Man; and they that hear shall live -  Jn 5:25

A time will come when all who are in the grave will hear His voice

Jn 5:28, 29

I am the resurrection and the Life Jn 11:25, 26

Not many in the Old Testament understood resurrection:

Job did In my flesh I shall see God Jb 19:25-27

David did You will not leave my soul in Sheol Ps 16:9-11

Isaiah did Your dead shall live Is 26:19

Daniel did Many who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake Dn 12:2

   - You shall rest.and arise to your inheritances-

   Dn 12:13

Our earthly house is not where we long to be, but further clothed, that mortality is swallowed up by life Spirit is given to us as a guarantee

2 Corinthians 5:1-10  (earthly house=mortal bodies; further clothed= righteous glorified bodies; naked or unclothed=death; life=eternal life)

So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.  For we walk by faith, not by sight.  We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. - 2 Co 5:6-8

Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the thing done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. - 2 Co 5:9, 10

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.  But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour:  yet what I shall choose I wot not.  For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:  Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.  (Paul was torn between life and death) Philippians 1:20-24

1.     The next thing you know after death is to be with the Lord at His 2nd coming.  When? At the second coming 1 Th 4:14-18

2.     Sleep in the grave is peaceful no more trials

3.  Whether dead or alive we have chosen to be in the presence of the Lord

Pauls Vision of Paradise 2 Co 12:2-10

Possibly because of 2 Co 11:23-28

As the cloud disappears and vanishes away, so he who goes down to the grave does not come up. He shall never return to his house, nor shall his place know him anymore.  Job 7:9, 10

Jesus words:

Lazarus is dead John 11:14

Lazarus come forth! Jn 11:43

Loose him, and let him go! Jn 11:44

Consider:  Death to God is like a sleep as He has the power to resurrect.

Resurrection of the dead 1 Corinthians 15:42-58

The dead in Christ will rise first 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18

Whether awake or sleep we may live together with Him 1 Th 5:9, 10

God has given us eternal life 1 John 5:11-13

Malachi 4:1-3 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. 3And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

To God death is as a sleep as He has the power to resurrect.

At death you probation closes, your choices cease, you have already chosen for God or not, your eternal destiny is fixed.

When did Paul expect to be with the Lord?

  • Saved in the Day of the Lord 1 Co 5:5
  • This mortal must put on immortality 1 Co 15:51-55
  • When Christ appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory Colossians 3:4
  • Only one has immortality He who is blessed, and only Potentate, the Kings of kings and Lord of lords who alone has immortality 1 Timothy 6:16  (See Immortality of the Soul)
  • And the dead in Christ will rise first 1 Th 4:16
  • I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Finally, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who loved His appearing.  2 Timothy 4:7, 8

1 Thessalonians 5:23 - And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  (Shows that God sanctifies all of you)

The tapes listed below are an interview of a man, Roger J. Morneau, born in 1925 in St Jacques, New Brunswick, Providence of Quebec.  Raised a devout French Catholic.  Dedicated by his mother at the age of three because of a serious illness he had - to become a priest.  Joined the Canadian Merchant Navy and then found himself 72 hours away from committing his soul to the devil, cried out, If there is a God Help me.  God hearing him answered him.  The tapes are his story.

Summary of tapes:

-The devil accepts Sunday worship as homage, whereas Sabbath-keepers have the protection of God and are kept from deception and distortion of the truth.

-Belief in any kind of afterlife or immortality of the soul and you are accepted into the religion of Necromancy.

-Lucifer personally tutored Charles Darwin in the theory of evolution as a child Darwin had been hypnotized (I think for medical reasons).

-Teachers of evolution have a coven of evil angels follow them all their life for protection.

-Stay away from Deliverance Ministries as they leave you with zero faith and open to demon possession.
