The
first of all commandments is: Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your hearts, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all you
strength. This is the first commandment.
And the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
There is no other commandments greater than these. Mark 12:29-31 (Does this include Spiritual Israel?)
A
new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. Jn 13:34
And this commandment
we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother. 1 Jn 4:21
You shall love the
Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This
is the first great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your

commandments speak of our relationship to God and what is required.
The last six
commandments speak of our relationship with out neighbor (brother) and what is required.

OT De 6:5, 6
and Mt 22:37-40 basically say the same thing to Love the Lord our God with all that we are and have and then our neighbor
as our self. This stands up as even being applicable in heaven. As this thought
crossed my mind the other day, knowing Mark 12: 25 - For when they shall rise from the dead, they
neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
The Decalogue commandments referring to adultery, parents and wife coveting would not apply. Whereas the two of Mt 22:37-40 would still apply.
Reading in the
“New Bible Dictionary,” the 10 commandments should not be regarded as God’s ideals for human behaviour. Rather they represent the floor below which no one should fall – if they do,
society or God must step in to punish. God’s ideals are set out in the
opening chapters of Genesis, where man is created in God’s image and therefore expected to imitate him.
Yet we are to be holy as He is Holy – Leviticus 11:44, 45; 19:2; 20:7 as well as 1 Peter 1:15, 16
