Keep your Marriage Vows - 1 Corinthians 7:10-16

Are you bound to a wife?  Do not seek to be loosed. Are you loosed from a wife?  Do not seek a wife; but even if you do marry, you have not sinned - 1 Co 7;27, 28

Because the hardness of your heart - Mt 19:8; Mk 10:5

Divorce allowed because of adultery - Mt 5:27-29

Marriage of the divorced constitutes adultery - Lu 16:18

Reconciliation encouraged - 1 Co 10:10-17

Adultery is more than an action:

Compare the first commandment You shall have no other Gods before Me.  Exodus 20:3; Deuteronomy 5:7  Anything you put before God in heaven is your god.  Hence:  Anything you put before relationship with  your spouse is your adultery.

          -internet time

          -sports time (playing or watching)

          -TV time

          -childcare

          -household duties

          -pornography in any for or medium

          -thinking of or desiring another during relations with your spouse

Adultery begins in the heart and mind - Mt 2:27-29

Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ - 2 Co 10:5

Seed on the ground, displeased the Lord, therefore He killed him - Genesis 38:9, 10

For the Lord of Israel says that He hates divorce, for it covers ones garments with violence, says the Lord of Hosts.  Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously. -

Malachi 2:16

However:  I cannot believe that God requires anyone to live in an abusive relationship whether physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
